Few people can wrap their heads around the idea of selling your parachutes for money to put gas in the plane. But those who do are entrepreneurs.
After a string of starting several successful businesses, Todd Michaud took on his most ambitious venture to date and spoiler alert: It broke him. It broke him mentally, emotionally and financially. He worked for over two years with 70-hour weeks with regular all-nighters. He liquidated all his savings and investments. He borrowed from family and friends. He downsized his house and sold most of his stuff. There was absolutely no backup plan and definitely no safety net. But even after all this, it ended not in triumph, but in failure. But nothing in our life is truly a failure if we learn from it. In this session Todd will share what he has learned about the power of tenacity in the face of adversity when it comes to launching and growing a business. It is not our successes that define us, but instead is the huge obstacles, the blind-sides, the unforeseen market shifts and failed business ventures that truly shape who we are as business owners. He will share the most important lessons he has learned along the way. Todd has a rare blend of business acumen, marketing strategy and IT leadership, yet doesn’t forget the hometown roots that he grew up in. He uses them to connect to the people behind the data and technology, making him ever valuable in the quest for businesses to connect with their ever-changing clientele. Over the last 20 plus years, Todd's companies have helped major companies like Dunkin Brands, Dairy Queen, Marcos Pizza, Cinnabon, and dozens of others crush their marketing and squash their costs by being an innovative big thinker who gets things done. Todd’s a father of three beautiful children, a former Ironman, a stand-up comic, and writer who lives in Marietta, Georgia. |
